Bicycle school
The bike school with Sthlm Bike has two parts. Our main activity is aimed at schools and is procured by the municipality. Here we have a customized educational plan for each age group. We bring everything with us = bikes, helmets, barriers, traffic signs, specially trained staff, etc. Here the school/class books a place through the municipality. The second part is an "open" bike school where we make stops at different places and offer training in cycling. Here too we bring all the equipment. This part is ambulatory and you can find the place and times below.
Where will you have an open cycling school in the spring of 2026?
During week 21 you can get help with cycling training from us at Örvallens IP.
Monday – Thursday between 3 and 5:30 pm and Sat-Sun 10 am-3 pm. No booking required.
What happens when you come to cycling school with your F-class?
Here, everything is pedagogically adapted to age.
The children are welcomed and divided into three groups. Each station has a well-thought-out working method where we combine information with activity. This means that we include all children, but perhaps in different ways. We have many children who have never cycled, or do not speak Swedish, but these children also get a place in our program. The educators who accompany their classes receive information from us on site, depending on how the class works.
The three stations of the cycling school
Traffic signs
We talk about road signs, draw and paint and create
our own road signs or play games with the signs in the game.
Helmet & Bike
We learn how a helmet should fit on the head, then
the children get to try cycling on cycle paths of different degrees of difficulty.
Me in traffic
A conversation about what the bike and the cyclist should be equipped with and
why it is good to cycle.
Quick facts:
The bike school started in 2014 as a “beneficiary” of the Sthlm Bike fun race. Since then, we have met over 23,000 children in F-grade in 9 municipalities. Nowadays, we not only teach children in F-grade in lesson form, but also have an “open” bike school for anyone who wants to learn to ride a bike. We have helmets and bikes to borrow and instructors on site.
· we started in 2014
· we can meet five F-classes in one day
· we invite all schools at the same time – first come, first served
· we prefer to be on sports fields or empty asphalt surfaces
· we always want everyone to be able to reach the location by public transport
· all places should be accessible to everyone in the class
· we strive to have water and toilets
· have been able to create their own days for children with special needs
· have met over 23,000 children since the start.
· We also have a Cycling School for older children* and adults in the afternoons* and weekends*
